Banana Cream Pie

Banana Cream Pie
Oh yum. I haven't been able to find/spot any condensed milk caramel at the supermarket yet. Need to look harder I think. The recipe looks too easy to not make me want to try it. And yes, this will be made available as a print when I have my Sunday shop update! Th original will be for sale too.

Have a lovely Friday + weekend everyone!

  2. At my old work, whenever we had a birthday/morning tea type thing, one of the girls would bring in:
a tin of dulce de leche
    a can of whipped cream
    a packet of gingersnaps
which she would turn into miniature cream tarts.

It was delicious, but really made my teeth hurt.

  3. I've never seen dulce de leche at the supermarket either, but I know you can caramelise regular old condensed milk by boiling it in the can for a while. Sounds weird but I promise it works!

  4. Yep, i have only seen it pre-made at a fancy Spanish Deli, but if you punch a hole or two in the top of a can of sweetened condensed milk and sit it in boiling water for three hours (remember to top up the water!) it turns to lovely cramel

  6. I've seen the Nestle one at plenty of supermarkets. It's called Top n' Fill Caramel and is normally in the baking section or next to the regular condensed milk. Or you can make your own as per the instructions above.

    :)

  7. yum!
i've also made dulche de leche by baking sweetened condensed milk in the oven (i'm scared to boil a tin), following this recipe: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2005/11/dulce-de-lechec/
